Danny Roy is a vocalist, songwriter, and entrepreneur. Musically, he is a countertenor and his primary genres are R&B and gospel. Danny Roy is also a public speaker, cosmetic formulator, He owns a skin and hair Care Brand (God’s Love Honey Comb) and runs his own Record Label, Danny Roy Concept.

 

Early Life and Educational Background

Danny Roy was born on the 30^th of March, 1997 in Lagos State, Nigeria as Daniel Chidi Kings. He was born into the Kings Family, a Christian Household; His father being a pastor and his mother a teacher of the Gospel. He was born into a family of six, he has three sisters and is the only male child. His state of origin is Delta State, Ika north East Local Government. He is currently based in Lagos State.

      For his education, He attended Unique group of Schools for his Nursery and Primary education and Royal Path College for his Secondary School Education He proceeded to study Philosophy at Delta State university, Abraka for his University Education.

 His Musical Background

 His interest in music peaked during childhood from the age of six. At that age, Danny Roy began composing music and scoring these intricate compositions. At the age of fourteen, he had written over sixty songs and performed in front of several gatherings. After years of performing in several Churches as a soloist and backing vocalist and also teaching people his melodic compositions, his passion for making music and singing heightened. Through these years, he went through rigorous vocal and music training and then developed his niche. His love for Gospel music knew no bounds.

In 2017, He released his first studio single, And I Love you, featuring Charis. The song got a lot of praise and acceptance. His fan base began to grow and in the space of two weeks, he released his Debut Album; For Love. At this time, he had developed a dedicated Fan base which he called The Royals.

In 2021, He announced that he was working on a sophomore album and released its first single Nani Gi, accompanied by other singles. In January 2023, He released an official video for his lead single Because of Love which is also the title of the soon-to-be-released album. The song Because of Love has received critical acclaim. It has also gotten over one million streams and downloads in few months of its release.

 Impact in The Music Industry

 Danny Roy has used his voice to promote a genre that is underrepresented in the Nigerian gospel industry. As a singer who writes his own material he has used the themes of Love, acceptance, unity and purity in his content to inspire the world at large. He is a musician who is very confident in using his sonorous vocals and skills to promote  vocal music. He is still using his brand to bless millions of people through his music, craft and lifestyle. He has a very loyal fan base and he teaches them to spread the message of love.
